Frequently Asked Questions

Do you make custom cabinets or do you just sell others?

We are a custom cabinet and woodworking shop. We design, fabricate and install all of our work. You talk to us, and us alone!

What is cabinet re-facing?

Changing the look and updating your cabinets can be a cost effective way to update your out dated or ugly cabinets. Leaving the cabinet in tact, we apply ¼ plywood to the sides, real wood veneer on the face frame, and add new doors and drawer fronts.

How much does this cost?

Generally it costs approximately 50% of the cost of brand new cabinets.

How long does this process take?

Usually 3-7 business days depending on the job size.

What can be done about the insides of my cabinets?

Any repairs can be made, also we can apply a stain blocking primer and paint the interior for a fresh “new” look.

Is re-facing for everybody?

No, we wouldn’t recommend this process if the cabinets are not structurally sound. We do a thorough inspection during our free estimate to determine the actual conditions of your cabinets.

What if we just want to change the color?

In that case, we would recommend you call a painter or refinisher, this is what we call resurfacing which we do not do at this time.

My drawers are bad and don’t roll out smoothly, what can I do?

We can make new drawers and add your choice of different types of drawer glide to fit your budget.

Do I have to empty all my cabinets for this process?

It is preferred, especially if you choose to paint the interior of your cabinets. We provide our customers with plastic totes to help keep things neat and tidy.

Why choose Cabinet Connection to re-face my cabinets?

First, we are licensed and insured. We use quality real wood products and quality hardware that are made to last. Usually our customers realize they get more for less with Cabinet Connection, and have shopped to discover how affordable we can make it!

Can I add, take away or modify our existing cabinets?

Absolutly, as long as any modification doesn’t ruin the integrity of the existing cabinets.

I want new cabinets, what about big box stores?

Just remember, our custom made cabinets are made for your exact space. This enables us to use every inch possible and with out unnecessary “filler” strips. Were not limited to certain sizes to mix and match. We do not have to stack cabinets to get full height cabinets. Many times our quality of materials are thicker and shelves are stiffer to handle more weight with out sagging. Honestly, we can offer a better value, more attention to detail, and no hidden costs. Our price includes standard installation.

Is their finish better?

There are many top quality finishes available. We use waterbased products that are high in quality, excellent stain resistance including uv and will not “yellow” over time. More importantly we use “green products low in emissions and more enviromently friendly. We guarantee our finish under normal conditions for 5 years.

How many coats of finish do you apply?

We follow, and go above industry standards, which is measured in mils thickness. So light or heavy coats, in the end it’s about mils thickness, Currently that standard is 4 mils thick. We prefer to apply a lasting finish with out call backs.

What if I want to help?

For obvious reasons, you can not help in our shop, however, making preparation in your space can help save you money. We can work with the home owner to find ways to reduce costs. Sometimes we even barter for some services, that can help us both.

Do you provide references?

Word of mouth is the most rewarding type of advertising for us. We have many customers that would welcome the opportunity to talk to you. We provide these referrals on an individual basis, for our serious clients.

What else do you do?

We are a licensed C-6 contractor. We do crown molding, wainscoting, shelving, mantles, entertainment centers, closet organizers, and possibly build what ever you can dream up!
